Why financial help is important?

Why is financial help important?

The more receive in donations, the more we can give to those in need.  It is as simple as that.  With prices always on the rise, giving people food, medicine, or helping them to afford housing costs more and more.

Because of the economic situation in Hungary, many people have lost their jobs, houses, and often times, their families.  For many, hope is fading and they are afraid of the future.  Living in such an insecure situation creates much ongoing stress and anguish which causes people to develop diseases.  They are prescribed medicine that is sometimes far too costly for them or the various aid organizations to afford.  For many, especially the elderly, it becomes a choice between whether or not they should eat, pay rent, OR to heat their room.  They simply cannot afford it all.  It is a tragedy, given the modern world we inhabit in the beginning of the 21st century, that there were more than three hundred people frozen to death in this, the relatively small country of Hungary, which has only ten million people.

Most of these people were not homeless.  They died in their own homes, sometimes because of drinking so much that they did not notice the fall in temperature, but more often because they were not able to afford to heat their homes.

Because of the economic crisis, the grants given to Csak Egyet by the state were cut by 50 percent!  This means that we have to try to help an increasing number of people with less and less money.  So, if you can afford to, please help us.

Even the smallest amount can help. EUR 1.50 for instance,  makes it possible for us  to give someone warm lunch.
